It is tested to diagnosis and monitor numerous conditions related to the heart, nerves, bones and kidneys.Hypercalcemia can be the result of hyperparathyroidism (overactive parathyroid gland), cancer, carcinomas, vitamin D overdoses and are of diagnostic value in detecting chronic renal disease and acute pancreatic disease.
Hypocalcemia is associated with hypoparathyroidism (underactive parathyroid gland), vitamin D deficiency, calcium deficiency, kidney dysfunction and renal failure. The Randox Calcium assay is used for the quantitative in vitro determination of calcium concentration in serum, plasma and urine.
